This is part of the implementation of the Parish Council's Tree Management plan. The purpose of the plan is to reduce the (very small) risk of damage or injury that could be caused by trees. This risk is balanced against the ecological and aesthetic value of trees to the community. Any tree work in the conservation area , or on protected trees, is carried out only with the approval of the Peak District National Park Authority

The plan applies to areas of land managed by the Parish Council. This does not include roadside verges which are the responsibility of the Highways Authority (Derbyshire County Council). The plan does not include tree surgery purely for reasons of appearance.
